Craniosacral Therapy

Cranial Sacral (Craniosacral) Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of a physiological system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membrane and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord.  The craniosacral system is responsible for providing the brain and spinal column with oxygen and nutrients from the bloodstream, in addition to a cushion for shock adsorption.  Inappropriate pressures on this system impair healthy function.  Minor movements of the plate-like bones of the skull and postural distortions of the spine create significant pressure on the fluid system that surrounds the brain and spinal cord.  Applying gentle pressure to the head and spine can release these restrictions that are compromising healthy circulation and functioning of this system. Craniosacral Therapy has helped in the treatment of:

  • Autism
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Fibromyalgia
  • TMJ
  • Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Motor-Coordination Impairments
  • Migraine Headaches
  • Chronic Neck
  • Back Pain
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Scoliosis

By helping to relax any tension from your head (Cranio) to your tailbone area (Sacral) balance and optimum function are being re-established in your body and your nervous system. Craniosacral therapy addresses functioning of the whole body, not just the head and tailbone area, working with the muscles, fascia, and fluids to positively effect the musculoskeletal system, as well as the nervous system.
